Read Matthew Chapter 5
Mt 6:31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
What things in life are the most important of all? In our minds we know that finding God/Christ is our number one priority in life. But our hearts often attempt to highjack that priority by pushing some other things ahead of our spiritual welfare. Jesus said, “Seek first His (the heavenly Father’s) kingdom and His righteousness.” That is no simple statement which we can quickly gloss over and forget. It is vitally important. Anyone who fails to find God and Christ in this life will have lost everything.
Picture if you will this illustration. The sun in our solar system is our Father, or Jesus, our Lord. The earth represents each of us. Our entire being revolves around that Sun. The Sun holds the power of life and death for our “earth.” If at any time we slip out of our orbit, we are doomed. Each “earth” who lives or has ever lived has made a choice – whether to do all they can to remain in harmony with the Sun, or to break off and attempt to find another source of life.
Going just a bit further in our illustration, imagine the other eight planets being distractions which beckon us to “Come, revolve around me.” It never works. That planet of a gay life has a strongly alluring voice calling to every man and woman who deals with same-sex attractions. Most SSA’s have heeded the call and as a result they are slowly losing all of the life-giving powers of our Sun, our Father.
There is only one source of power which can supply all our needs. He is the most important aspect of our existence, here on earth and for eternity. There will be a time when homosexuality ceases to exist. It will die away with all other sins, along with all other earthly pursuits which have no eternal value.
We must continue to hold our course, our orbit around our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. That pathway, the one we have chosen to walk, will bring us great reward. We will spend eternity with our Savior, wrapped up in His arms of love and security. You are fully aware of where the other pathway ends.
1Ch 16:10 Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice. 11 Look to the LORD and His strength; seek His face always.
Ps 9:10 Those who know Your name will trust in You, for You, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek You.
Prayer: Father, we seek You, now and forever. We know that You are our portion, our strength, our only source of life. Thank You for keeping us near You. Thank You for Your promise that all who seek You will be found. We love You!
