Homosexuality: The Leprosy of Christianity

Homosexuality: The Leprosy of Christianity In 1999, the Lord laid on my heart to start this ministry. I didn’t know much at the time. All I knew or had heard from Him were short things that led me forward. It was like a breadcrumb trail that led me slowly, step-by-step through

CHANGE: What Is It And Who Gets To Decide?

Change is a HUGE word—and that’s an understatement! I could literally write an article about change every month for a year and yet, after 12 months and 24,000 words, I still wouldn’t cover it all. With that caveat stated, please know that this article will only be a drop-in-the-bucket regarding

McKrae is the president and founder of the Hope for Wholeness Network and author of The Transparent Life. For almost 20 years, McKrae has worked with countless men, teens, and families, in helping them understand the root issues of homosexuality and how to have a successful, Christ-focused, and transparent life. He's been in full-time ministry since 2003. He was ordained by his home church, First Baptist North Spartanburg, to work specifically in ministry with those affected by same-sex attractions. McKrae started Truth Ministry in 1999. In 2013 the name was changed to Hope for Wholeness. He’s spoken on a variety of platforms, including Christian and public television, and many news media outlets. As a young man McKrae struggled desperately to understand who he was and, at age 19, began living as a homosexual for three and a half years. A husband and wife reached out to him, introduced him to Amway, where he received Jesus. After receiving Christ as his Lord, he believes he was uniquely shown a path to freedom that he began living. He calls that path, “The Transparent Life.” McKrae is very open about his same-sex attractions not being altered, however so many other things have changed over his 25 year journey out of homosexuality and into manhood. His journey has revealed who he truly is in Christ. He was able to learn how to have healthy, fulfilling, relationships with men. A big part of leaving homosexuality, in addition to Christ's draw on his life, was a desire to marry a woman and have a family. He prayed for his wife everyday for five years. Turns out Julie was also praying for that same five years for her husband. McKrae married Julie in 1996. They and their two children, Seth (17) and Caroline (15) live in Spartanburg, SC.
