Too Horrible To Imagine!
Read Matthew Chapter 13
Mt 13:40 “As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. 41 The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will weed out of His kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. 42They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.
Mt 13:49 This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous 50 and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
We are living in perilous times. Sometimes we forget that we don’t know when God will call for an end to time as we know it. At the end, there will be some spectacular and miraculous events unfold before our eyes. All who live on earth will witness the scenes described in these two passages from Matthew. Another thing we often forget is that when that time arrives, all who have not repented and believed will be lost forever, without hope. They will be thrown into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
I do not like to think about that for two reasons. For one, there was a time when I could imagine that happening to me. Praise God, I know now that I am not one of those who will be doomed at the end. Second, it horrifies me to think of that happening to the young men I have mentored. Some of them have walked away from the truth and are now living the words from verse 41. They are “causing sin and doing evil.” Oh, Lord, redeem them before that time comes upon the earth.
If anyone reading this is riding the fence concerning the issue of homosexual behavior, please consider the words of these scriptures. The risk is too great. The consequences are too severe. Even if it were possible that these words were not true (and I emphasize the words “if it were possible),” the risk would even then be too great. Even if the possibility were only 1%, the odds would be too great. Living a life in and for Christ is the best possible life for any man or woman on earth. It is so much better than a gay life that the two are incomparable.
We cannot walk the fence any longer. God has decreed what is right and wrong, and homosexual behavior has fallen over onto the side of wrong. All of nature cries out that truth, even if God’s word did not. Each of us must commit ourselves to a firm adherence to the truth, and continue battling this evil thing which has tried to destroy us. No amount of difficulty on this side of eternity is of consequence, in comparison to the difficulties which will be faced in the end.
When our Lord returns, we must not be among t hose who cause sin, or among those who do evil. That would be a horrible, indescribable fate. We must be counted with those who are called the righteous, shining like the sun in the kingdom of our Father.
Prayer: Father, thank You!! How blessed we are! The images we see when we read these passages from Your word, and from the mouth of Jesus Your Son, are horrible. They are too difficult to see. Please, please, reveal truth to all those we know who are causing sin and living evil lives. God have mercy!!!
